Vitamin E (as d-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate)
Vitamin E is best known as an antioxidant. Some studies done in the late 1940's showed it might also provide some menopause relief, specifically with hot flashes as well as vaginal dryness. Few studies have been done more recently, however. Other benefits of Vitamin E include a potential decrease in risk of heart disease. It is possible that Vitamin E can also assist with Alzheimer's disease as well as some cancers.
Soy
The soy plant contains phytoestrogens, which are chemical compounds that work similarly to estrogen that are found naturally in plants. Studies have shown that soy has a higher concentration of phytoestrogen than any other plant. Although not as strong as estrogen, phytoestrogens can imitate estrogen very well and help with both perimenopausal menopausal women whose natural estrogen levels are lowering. It can replace some of these lost estrogen levels, thus providing menopause relief. In addition to its role in menopause relief, soy is also known to have a number of heart health benefits. Study Shows Long Term Soy use as Safe
Black Cohosh
The use of Black Cohosh for menopause relief is backed up by the American College of Obsetetrics and Gynecology in their guidelines for botanical menopause relief. In particular, Black Cohosh is able to provide relief from symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings and insomnia. Studies have been done which show that the effects of Black Cohosh are similar to those of estrogen replacement in menopause relief.
Damaiana
Daminiana is a shrub which grows yellow flowers. It is predominantly grown in South and Central America, although it can be found as far north as the state of Texas. Traditionally Damiana is known for its aphrodisiac potential. Some claim that it even produces a sense of euphoria. It can also help ease depression as well as anxiety by inducing relaxation. It's works good as a menopause relief, but it's not one of the acnezine ingredients - acnezine uses different ones.
